The H2Y032's INDIGLO backlight has an available Night-Mode^® feature. Normally, you light the backlight for 3 seconds by momentarily pressing the INDIGLO button. With the Night-Mode feature active, however, pressing any button (regardless of mode or function) lights the backlight for 3 seconds. To turn the Night-Mode feature on, you hold the INDIGLO button depressed for 3 seconds, at which time you hear a beep. While some Timex watches automatically turn the Night-Mode feature off after a specified number of hours, this watch requires manual deactivation of the feature. To turn the Night-Mode feature off, you simply hold the INDIGLO button depressed again for 3 seconds until you hear the beep.

Not only does the H2Y032 have an INDIGLO backlight for nighttime viewing, it also has an All Day INDIGLO display. If you look at the H2Y032 's LCD panel at an angle, the background appears to be an olive-gray color. However, when you angle the watch face toward light as you view it, the LCD panel background becomes an iridescent shiny bright green that almost seems to be luminescent. Compared to a conventional LCD panel, the All Day INDIGLO display provides significantly easier viewing, with noticeably greater contrast between the displayed information and the background.

For extra security, the tip of the strap that goes under the keeper is thicker than the rest of the strap. With this arrangement, once the strap tip passes under the keeper, it is held in place until you lift the keeper slightly to unbuckle the strap.

Note: This watch fits wrist sizes from about 6 to just over 8 inches. The strap has 9 holes for the buckle. My wrists are just over 7 inches around, and when I tried the watch on, I used the fifth hole out from the watch body.
