The Taylor 5566 Digital Humidiguide is a digital indoor thermo-hygrometer that shows the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) and the relative humidity in percent (%RH) in its two LCD windows. The measuring range of the thermometer in the Taylor 5566 is -58°F to +158°F in 0.1° increments except near the high and low ends of this range, where increments can be up to 0.4°. The measuring range of the hygrometer is 2 0% to 95% RH in 1% increments from 30% to 83% and in increments of up to 3% outside of this range.

The 5566 is factory calibrated for both temperature and humidity. The calibration cannot be (and does not need to be) adjusted in the field. 

The available Certificate of Conformance for the Taylor 5566 certifies the following levels of accuracy:

• Temperature accuracy over a range of  -58°F to +158°F:
  +/-2°F at 32°F to +158°F
  +/-3°F at 0°F to +32°F
  +/-5°F at -46°F to 0°F
• Humidity accuracy over a range of 20% to 95% RH:
  +/-5% at 35% to 75% RH and 77°+/-1°F
  +/-7% at 35% to 75% RH and 77°+/-5.4°F
  +/-8% at 75% to 95% RH and 77°+/-1°F
  approximately +/-10% at 25% to 35% RH

For powering, the 5566 requires two AAA (1.5V) batteries, which are included. A fuzzy display indicates that battery replacement is necessary, and we recommend using alkaline batteries.

As mentioned above, the Taylor 5566 is designed for indoor use only. On the back of the case near the top are two keyhole slots for hanging the unit on a wall or other vertical surface. You'll need to supply the screws or nails on which the 5566 will hang. The 5566 also has a foldout table stand on the back of its case so that it can rest on a horizontal surface. Be sure to locate the 5566 where it cannot receive direct or reflected sunlight. Also, don't hang it on a wall that's heated or in the path of heated air from a register or other source.
