#506 Taylor
Connoisseur Hot Beverage
Thermometer |
|
|
The
#506 Taylor Connoisseur Hot Beverage Thermometer not only shows you the
temperature of your beverages, it is also "the perfect frothing
accessory!" (Taylor's words) for milk. This precision analog instrument features tough,
corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction and a measuring range of
120°F to 180°F. The "prime frothing" temperature zone, which
is 140°F to 160°F, is highlighted on the dial. The dial portion of the #506
thermometer is 1-5/8 inches wide by 1-1/4 inches
high, and the dial itself is 1 inch in diameter. Overall length is 5-5/8 inches, and the stem length is
5 inches. On the stem is a steel clip that attaches to the side of the
vessel that contains the hot beverage. The sides of the case
have silicone accents for easy handling.

When you're using the
#506 Taylor Connoisseur Series Hot Beverage Thermometer to froth milk, you attach
the clip on the thermometer's stem to the side
of a steaming pitcher and extend at least 2 inches of the stem into
the milk. You then steam the milk until it reaches the prime
frothing temperature (between 140°F and 160°F) indicated on the
dial. (Steaming past this range will scald the milk.).

The #506 Taylor hot beverage and frothing thermometer is ruggedly constructed and
highly accurate. To quote the manufacturer, "The
Connoisseur Series thermometers by Taylor represent the epitome of
precision, accuracy, innovation, style and heritage." These durable
instruments truly are "The choice of culinary professionals." This product
is covered by a Taylor lifetime warranty.
Please Note: When the #506 Taylor
needs cleaning, do so with a damp cloth. Grease and other
hard-to-remove soil on the metal parts can be removed with a scouring pad.
The #506 can be immersed in water, but do not wash it in a dishwasher.
