The 2751 Taylor Digital Wireless Rain Gauge with Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer and Clock
simultaneously displays daily rainfall
plus weekly, monthly, or total rainfall. It also displays indoor and
outdoor temperatures, time, month, date, and weekday. Rainfall data is
transmitted to the 2751 main unit by the included 2750 rainfall
sensor/transmitter. Outdoor temperature data is transmitted to the 2751
main unit by the included 1457 remote sensor/transmitter, and the main
unit can operate with up to three of these remotes. The thermometer in the 2751 has a minimum/maximum memory for indoor
and all outdoor temperatures. The 2751 is part of Taylor's latest line of
weather products, all of which feature a slim, contoured profile and
larger displays than the products they replace. The main unit and the temperature remote can each be wall-mounted or placed on a
shelf, table, or desk. The rainfall
remote must be placed on, and can be secured to, a horizontal surface. |

The 2751 Digital
Wireless Rain Gauge with Thermometer features
the sleek styling and silver color of Taylor's latest line of
weather products. The top line of the main unit's extra-large 3-line
display simultaneously indicates daily rainfall and your choice of
weekly, monthly, or total rainfall in digits about 5/8 inch tall.
The second line displays the time as hour and minutes in bold digits
almost 3/4 inch tall. To the right of the time is the outdoor or
other remote temperature. In the third line of the display are the
digital month (1/4 inch), day (5/16 inch), and weekday (3/8 inch).
To the right of the calendar data is the indoor temperature. Outdoor
and indoor temperature digits are 1/2 inch tall (degree tenths are about 1/4 inch). Even
though its display is large, the main unit is quite compact at 5 inches
wide by 3-3/8 inches high by 1-1/4 inches deep. Hang the 2751 on
your wall, or fold out the integral stand and place it on a shelf,
table, or desk.

The 2751 wireless rain gauge and
thermometer monitors and displays rainfall or sprinkler amounts plus the
indoor temperature and the temperatures at up to three outdoor or other remote
locations.
Rainfall amounts can be displayed on the main unit as inches or millimeters, and
temperatures can be displayed in either °F or °C. These and other setup
and display selections are made by means of three control pushbuttons on
the top and three on the back of the 2751's case.
Here are a few things you need to
know about the self-emptying 2750 rainfall remote. When installing
batteries for the first time, don't forget to also remove the tape from
over the rain cup before using the remote. The included stainless steel
net will keep debris (leaves, stones, etc.) out of the rain collector. Be
sure to remove and clean the net as needed. Also, be sure to bring the 2750
indoors when it's snowy and/or the temperature drops below freezing.
For sensing outdoor or other remote
temperatures, the 2751 uses the Taylor
1457 Digital Wireless Remote Sensor. One 1457 is included, and the 2751
actually works with up to three of these sensors. Additional 1457s are sold
separately. The 1457 has its own
temperature display for local viewing, and you can select either °F or
°C independently of the main unit. The 1457 also comes with a temperature
probe on a detachable 11-foot (3.3-meter) cable. The probe is ideal for
measuring the temperature in a swimming pool, hot tub, or aquarium and
also in soil. Another use for the probe is in extremely cold conditions,
in which case you bring the remote inside and extend the probe outside (by
hanging it out of a window, for example). The 1457 should be mounted in a
sheltered location where direct precipitation cannot fall on it. Although
this remote is splash-resistant, it is not waterproof.
The 2751's daily rainfall measuring range
is 0 to 39.33 inches (0 to 999 millimeters), and the weekly, monthly, and
total rainfall measuring ranges are all 0 to 393.66 inches (0 to 9999
millimeters). Indoor temperature
measuring range of the 2751 is +23°F to +122°F (-5° to +50°C).
Outdoor/remote temperature measuring range is -4°F to +140°F (-20°
to +60°C). Using lithium batteries in the 1457 extends its low
temperature measuring limit to -40°F (-40°C). With the probe attached,
the 1457's low temperature measuring limit is further extended to -58°F
(-50°C).
The digital quartz calendar clock in the
2751 displays the time in your choice of 12-hour format with PM, or
24-hour format. The month and date are shown digitally in
that order, and the weekday is shown as a two-letter abbreviation in
English. The year is displayed only during setup.
The 2751 main unit and the 2750 and 1457
remotes are each powered by two AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries. These are
not included and must be obtained separately. Expected battery life is 1
year. If the 1457 remote will be used in sub-freezing temperatures,
lithium AA batteries are recommended instead of alkaline. Low battery
icons are displayed for the main unit and all remotes when battery
replacement is needed.
On the backs of both the 2751 main unit and the 1457
temperature remote are a keyhole slot for wall mounting and an integral
folding table stand. The 2750 rainfall remote can rest on a horizontal
surface or be secured to the surface with four screws. Six mounting
anchors and screws (enough for all three units) are included.
If you're looking for a wireless digital
rain gauge to measure rainfall or sprinkler amounts and you also need an
indoor/outdoor thermometer that's easy to read, the handsome and
value-priced Taylor 2751 is a fine choice. Not only can it display in
rainfall in inches or millimeters and temperatures in °F or °C, it also
has a min/max memory for indoor and all outdoor/remote temperatures.
Another plus is its digital quartz calendar clock. The 2751 is perfect for
any room in the house and ideal for monitoring not only rainfall but also the
temperature in your baby's room, wine cellar, greenhouse, garage, garden,
hot tub, swimming pool, aquarium, or wherever. This product comes with a
1-year factory warranty.
