The Taylor Precision 1448 is part of Taylor's Five-Star Commercial line of kitchen products, which are designed for accuracy, readability, and reliability. The battery that powers the 1448 is a CR2032 3-volt lithium button cell. If the display becomes dim or otherwise difficult to read, this means that battery replacement is necessary. For the 1448, this is a simple process. You remove two screws to open the battery compartment. Next, you replace the battery, being careful to observe the proper polarity. You then reinsert the screws to close the battery compartment. That's all there is to it.
