The Taylor Precision 805 Weekend Warrior Grill Thermometer is designed to determine the temperature at the surface of your grill. You may wish to set different areas of your grill to different temperatures so that you can sear or brown your meat over high heat, and then move it to another area for finishing. A good surface temperature thermometer will give you the control you need to get good, repeatable results. Just place the surface temperature thermometer on the grill surface with a spatula or tongs, and directly measure the temperature of that portion of the grill. Without having to open the grill or oven to read the temperature of the meat, you can maintain a more even cooking temperature.

The #807 Taylor Weekend Warrior can be used for oven or stovetop use, but is particularly well suited to the BBQ grill, with a large digit (5/8 inch) backlit display for use in low light. The #807 by Taylor can display in either °F or °C, has a range of 0 to 220°F (-18 to 104°C), and has a hold button to preserve the reading after the fork is withdrawn. There is a handy table on the back of the handle giving recommended temperatures for beef, ground beef, lamb, veal, pork, and poultry.

This is the correct replacement probe for the Taylor 808 BBQ thermometer. Probes don't last forever, and they can be damaged by grease flareups, leaving you without your thermometer until you get a replacement. We highly recommend keeping a spare or two on hand. This probe only works with the Taylor 808 as far as we know.
