Midland-HH50 Pocket Weather Radio

The Midland-HH50 Pocket Weather Radio is a great new product, not because of all kinds of features and functions, but because it's inexpensive and easy to use. Just put batteries in the Midland HH50, turn it on, and stick it in your pocket. You will be alerted to weather emergencies as well as other hazards. This is not just an alert radio to take with when you're hiking, biking or camping, or to give the kids to carry. This is a weather and emergency alert radio that schools can issue to teachers, contractors can issue to construction personnel, and delivery companies can issue to drivers. They're great for police, firemen, municipal employees and maintenance personnel.

For years weather radios were just used to receive weather forecasts, and warnings of hazardous weather. They still do that very well. But the federal government expanded the NOAA weather radio broadcast service to include other hazards such as toxic spill warnings, civil emergencies, earthquakes, terrorist activity, law enforcement issues, and many others, as well as weather emergencies and weather forecasting. The intent was to be able to rapidly warn the population of any hazardous conditions. The problem has been that radios capable of receiving these messages have often been expensive and difficult to operate. Midland has addressed these problems with the HH50 All Hazard Weather Alert radio

Now receive 24-hour-a-day National Weather Bureau Broadcasts no matter where you are. This handheld, portable unit has an ALERT system that turns unit on when a dangerous weather or civil emergencies arises. Features include: Weather test button to ensure the weather alert feature on the radio is functioning properly, auto scan to find an available weather channel and 6 inch telescoping antenna for clear reception no matter where you are. Uses 3 AAA batteries (not included).
