The model WS-9116U Wireless Indoor Outdoor Thermometer by La Crosse Technology is a compact, basic, economical indoor outdoor thermometer.

The La Crosse Technology WS-9116U wireless indoor outdoor thermometers are just under 5 inches tall, silver in color, with black trim. The WS-9116U may be hung on a wall, or can stand on its own with a detachable stand.

The La Crosse Technology WS-9116U wireless indoor outdoor thermometers have a two line display. The top line displays the current indoor temperature. The second line displays the temperature transmitted from a remote location by the included TX6U wireless remote. Up to two optional additional remote transmitters may be used to monitor additional remote locations, selectable by pressing the "CH" button. Recorded minimum and maximum temperature values for the local and each remote location (since last reset) may be displayed by pushing the Min/Max button.

Two different remote transmitters are available for the La Crosse WS-9116U. The TX6U (the one included with the station) reports outdoor temperature only and has no display. The TX3UP senses temperature via a waterproof probe on a 10-foot (3-meter) wire for use in pools, spas, soil, etc., and has a display.

Because the La Crosse Technology WS-9116U indoor outdoor thermometers do not have some of the added features of the more expensive units, such as an atomic clock or backlit display, they can provide wireless indoor outdoor thermometer functionality for a very reasonable price.
