The measuring range of the Taylor 1441E thermometer is
-35°F to +155°F or -37°C to +68°C in 0.1° increments. The operating
temperature range for the thermometer body is -4°F to +120°F or -20°C
to +50°C. You select °F or °C by pressing a button in the battery
compartment on the back of the thermometer body.
Under the hinged cover on the front of the 1441E
are three control pushbuttons for each sensor probe. To view the
current temperature for a particular sensor probe, you simply press its ON
button. Pressing MAX once shows the highest temperature recorded during
the current 24-hour period. Pressing MAX six more times displays the
maximum recorded temperatures for the past six 24-hour periods, which are
indicated by D.1 through D.6 in the display. Similarly, pressing MIN once
shows the lowest temperature recorded during the current 24-hour period.
Pressing MIN six more times displays the minimum recorded temperatures for
the past six 24-hour periods, which are again indicated by D.1 through D.6
in the display. Pressing MAX or MIN after the D.6 reading is displayed
returns the display to the current temperature. The oldest (D.6) maximum
and minimum readings are automatically dropped each day, and the minimum
and maximum temperatures for each period move from D.1 to D.2, D.2 to D.3,
etc.
In addition to the six control pushbuttons
under the front cover is a small, recessed memory reset pushbutton. You
can press it to reboot the 1441E's microprocessor and sequence the start
time of the min/max recording periods.
The temperature displays automatically turn
off 10 minutes after being turned on. However, the 1441E's advanced
microprocessor circuit continues to record temperature data when the
displays are off. This maximizes battery life because the displays are on
only for the time needed to read the temperature and recall min/max data.
For powering, the 1441E requires two AA (1.5V)
batteries, which are included. We
recommend using alkaline batteries unless the
thermometer body will be located where temperatures remain below freezing
for extended periods. In this case, install lithium batteries instead of alkaline
batteries. A low-battery indicator in the display tells you when
replacement is necessary.
As mentioned above, the Taylor 1441E is
designed for indoor or outdoor use. On the back of the case at the top and
bottom are two flanges for attaching the 1441E a wall or other vertical surface. You'll need
to supply the screws for doing this.
For more than 150 years, Taylor measurement
products have been the professional's choice for accuracy, readability,
and durability, and the 1441E is no exception. With functional, no-nonsense
styling and precision craftsmanship, the Taylor 1441E Thermometer
an
excellent choice when accurate temperature measurement via probe is
required at two separate locations in close proximity to one another. The 1441E
is covered by a Taylor 1-year limited warranty.
