The Oregon Scientific DP-100 Daylight Projection Clock Alarm actually projects time, or alternating time and indoor temperature, onto the wall or ceiling with an image bright enough to see in normal daytime room light. The Oregon Scientific DP-100 also has a large, bold, red display on the front of the clock that can display time, date (in a vertically scrolling format), alarm setting, or indoor temperature. You can choosing what will be displayed on the front of the DP-100 by simply waving your hand over the top, the infra-red motion sensor will sense your hand and change the display.

Time projector - The projector portion of the DP-100 can be pointed at the ceiling, rotated forward or back 90 degrees to point at a wall, and electrically rotated 180 degrees to maintain an upright image.  The projector has a focus control, and the projected image is sharp and evenly illuminated, nicely visible in a light or dark room. The projector may be set to automatically dim as the room darkens, so as not to be too bright. The characters are the same unique stylized digits used on the LCD display. You can choose to project only the time (in 12 or 24 hour format), or an alternating display of time and indoor temperature. The projected display also includes the status of the alarm. If you are wondering if you remembered to set the alarm, just open your eyes and look at the projected image for alarm status. 

Clock Display - The time display on the front of the DP-100 is in large, red, bold, highly readable digits about 7/8 inch high. Time (hours and minutes) is displayed vertically, with a flashing colon. Time can be displayed in 12 or 24 hour format. Waving your hand over the DP-100 will switch the display to the year, which will then scroll up to show the month and date. Waving your hand over the top again will display the alarm time. Waving your hand over the top a third time will display the indoor temperature in your choice of degrees C or F. An indicator at the bottom displays the alarm status in all of the above display modes. Alarm functions include a daily alarm with an 8 minute snooze delay activated by waving your hand over the unit. The alarm is activated or disabled by a button on the top of the unit.
