The WR-10 Midland Weather and Hazard Alert Monitoring Radio with AM/FM Radio gives you two products in one cost effective package. You have both an AM/FM radio and a basic but high performance National Weather Service weather and emergency alert monitor. The WR-10 has a full tone alert signaling system built in. When the National Weather Service issues an emergency alert, they transmit a special tone. This tone is picked up by your WR-10 to provide you instant emergency weather or alert information. Your WR-10 will advise you of special warnings even if you are listening to standard AM or FM broadcasts at the time.

But most importantly, the WR-10 is made by Midland, an experienced and respected radio company. Despite it's entry level feature set and price, the WR-10 has the performance, quality, and accessory availability that sets it apart as a professional level product.  The entry level price is achieved by eliminating the S.A.M.E. functionality and the LCD display found on their more expensive radios. 

The WR-10 has an emergency battery backup system for use if you lose power. It will provide up to six hours of operation if power fails.
