Clear Display Wired Digital Indoor/Outdoor Window Thermometer with Min/Max Memory

The TX5050 Timex Clear Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer can display the indoor temperature or the outdoor temperature, or it can alternate between the two. In addition to its Clear display with big, bold digits, this compact wired digital thermometer also features a minimum/maximum memory for indoor and outdoor temperatures. The TX5050 mounts via suction cup on the inside of a window, and its wired temperature probe extends outside of the window to record and transmit outdoor temperature data.

The TX5050 wired thermometer monitors and displays the indoor temperature and, as reported by the included weather-resistant sensor on a 10-foot (3-meter) cord, the outdoor temperature. Temperatures can be displayed in either °F or °C, as selected by a recessed button on the back of the unit. Although the indoor and outdoor temperatures are not displayed simultaneously, the display can (as mentioned above) alternate automatically between the two temperatures at 2-second intervals.

The TX5050's integral memory records maximum and minimum values for both indoor temperature and outdoor temperature. These values are available at the push of a button, and you can simply push another button to clear and reset the memory whenever desired.

The indoor temperature measuring range of the TX5050 is 32°F to 122°F (0°C to 50°C). The outdoor temperature measuring range is -4°F to 158°F (-20° to +70°C).

The TX5050 requires one AAA (1.5V) battery for powering. The battery is not included, and we recommend using an alkaline battery.

When attaching the TX5050 to a window, be sure that the window surface is clean and dry. You may want to wet the suction cup a little before applying it to the window. A damp cloth works well for this. A second, smaller suction cup is included for the probe wire if securing the wire to the window at some point would be advantageous n your particular application.

While lots of suction-cup thermometers mount on the outside of a window and are outdoor only, this one mounts on the inside and is indoor/outdoor. Also, while some outside-mount digital thermometers have a memory that automatically resets daily, the TX5050 features a manual memory reset. You may find this preferable because you can reset the memory any time you want (weekly or monthly, for example, instead of daily).
