At the top of the
display, the time is displayed in 12 hour format with a PM
indicator. Digits are 1/2 inch tall. The 00590A1 has
an internal clock source, allowing it to set itself, and
remember when to make DST changes*.
Alarm functions include a daily alarm with a 10 minute snooze,
activated by a snooze/light button on top. When the alarm
isn't sounding, touching the snooze/light button illuminates the
display with green LEDs for approximately 5 seconds.
In the center of the Acu-Rite
00590A1 display, indoor temperature and indoor humidity are
displayed. Temperatures may be displayed in °F
or °C. Indoor temperature and humidity digits are about 3/8 inch tall, with tenths of a degree
about half that size.
The lower part of
the display shows outdoor temperature in digits about 3/8 inch tall, with tenths of a degree
about half that size. The Acu-Rite 00590A1
can receive and display temperatures from up to three remote
sensors (selectable by the "channel" button).
One sensor is included, additional sensors are available
separately. A low battery indicator is included on the display to indicate a low battery
condition at a remote sensor.
Minimum and maximum
temperature and humidity readings (since the last manual reset)
are available by pressing the memory button. The stored
readings may be cleared by pressing the memory button for about
3 seconds.
The
remote temperature sensor that comes with the Acu-Rite
00970 is off white, and is about 3-1/2 inches tall by 2-1/2 inches wide by
1 inch deep. The sensor has a small temperature display of
it's own. Operating
(indoor) temperature range of the main unit is 32°F to 122°F (0°C to
50°C).
Operating temperature range of the included remote
sensor is -4°F to +158 °F (-20°C to 70°C) when using Alkaline
batteries, or -22°F to +158 °F (-30°C to 70°C) if Lithium batteries
are used. Maximum transmission range of the remote
sensor is 100 feet in open space. Walls and other obstructions
will reduce the range. This product comes with a 1-year factory warranty.
*Note
- The clock in the Acu-Rite 00590A1 has an internal memory allowing it
to set itself. You must choose a time zone in order for it to work
correctly. Available time zones are Atlantic, Eastern, Central,
Mountain, Pacific, Alaskan and Hawaii-Aleutian. Daylight savings
time changes can be made automatically, using either the old dates (2nd
Sunday in March, 1st Sunday in November), or the new dates (1st Sunday
in April, last Sunday in October). Daylight savings time changes
may also be disabled.
