Display, By Acu-Rite

The
Model 00605 Wireless Weather Station set, By
Acu-Rite comes with a large console
that displays a wealth of information, and a smaller console for a
second location, well suited for use as an alarm clock. The two consoles
share the included wireless remote temperature and humidity sender.

The 00605
Acu-Rite 00605 Wireless Weather Station set, By
Acu-Rite
comes with two consoles,
both with a Titanium gray finish. The larger console is about 7
3/8 inches wide, 6 1/2 inches tall and 1 1/8 inch deep. The
second console is about 4 inches tall, 2 3/4 inches wide, and 1
1/8 inch deep. Both can stand on their own or be hung on a wall.

Large
Console: The larger console has two display windows. The top window
displays indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity on the left and
right. In the center, one of 6 weather forecast icons representing the
likely weather forecast for the next 12 to 24 hours, the barometric
pressure, and a barometric pressure bar graph representing 12 hours of
history are displayed. Pressing the memory button will display the
minimum and maximum temperature and humidity values experienced since
the last reset. These values automatically reset every 24 hours. Digit
sizes are a little over a half inch for temperature and humidity
(smaller for degree tenths), and 3/8 inch for barometric pressure.
The
lower window displays the date (month and day), the day of the week, the
time, and the phase of the moon. The time and date functions are all
atomic, that is, they receive radio broadcasts carrying highly accurate
timing information, and set themselves. Also present are status icons
representing atomic time reception, communications with the remote
temperature and humidity sender, and the status of the alarm. The large
console does have an alarm function with a five minute snooze feature,
however, the display is not illuminated and cannot be read in the dark,
and the snooze button is a small button on the back of the unit. Digit
sizes are 1 1/8 inch for hours and minutes, and 1/2 inch for date and
seconds.
Small
Console: The smaller console normally displays indoor temperature,
outdoor temperature and time. Pressing
the memory button will display the minimum and maximum temperature and
humidity values experienced since the last reset. These values
automatically reset every 24 hours. Pressing the calendar button
switches the time display to a date display. The small console has alarm
clock functionality, including a 5 minute snooze alarm. The prominent
button on the top of the unit serves as both a snooze alarm and a
backlight switch. If the alarm is sounding, pressing the button silences
the alarm for 5 minutes. If the alarm is not sounding, pressing the
button illuminates the display for 5 seconds. Like the large console,
time and date functions are all atomic, that is, they receive radio
broadcasts carrying highly accurate timing information, and set
themselves. Digit sizes are a little over half inch for degrees and
time, smaller for degree tenths.
The
Acu-Rite 00605 consoles can receive and display temperature from up to
three remote sensors (selectable by the "channel" button). One
remote sensor is included, additional sensors are available separately.
The remote temperature sensor is white in
color and about 4 inches tall by 2-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/8 inch deep in
size. The sensor has a small temperature and humidity display of it's
own.
Note:
The Acu-Rite 00605 is an "atomic" clock. Atomic (or radio
controlled) clocks receive a radio signal to set themselves. Like any
radio receiver, however, they may not be able to receive the signal if
they are in a building with a lot of steel in the structure, near
computers or other electrical equipment that may generate interference,
or if the weather is unsuitable. The signal they receive does not
propagate well during the day. That's the nature of the signal, not the
clock. These clocks are designed to catch the signal when they can,
generally in the middle of the night, calibrate themselves, and then run
quite accurately for days until they can catch another signal. When you
first put batteries in the clock, it will most likely not set itself
until the middle of the night. That's normal. By morning, weather
permitting, it should be correct. Under less than ideal conditions,
signal reception and calibration can take a few days. Also, daylight
saving time changes may not be made the first night if the location and
weather are not favorable.

time-synchronization radio signal from U.S. atomic clock in
Colorado.
Automatic time
adjustment (including Daylight Saving Time changes) and date
adjustment occur after signal reception.
- Radio tower and waves
icon indicates successful signal reception.

and humidity. Values are automatically reset every 24 hours.
- Both consoles display low-battery icons
for themselves and all remotes in use.
- Large console can be wall-mounted or (with
included base attached) free-standing.
- Small console can be wall-mounted or
