The Ferrari Collection from Oregon Scientific reflects the glamour, excitement, and tradition of Formula One motor racing. The instruments in the Ferrari Collection's Speedometer Line feature round, dashboard-like displays trimmed in chrome to evoke the luxurious ambience of the classic sports and GT road cars that have made Ferrari an automotive legend.

One of these instruments is the Oregon Scientific FST301A-R Imola Atomic Travel Alarm Clock. This version of the Imola has a silver case with a sliding front cover in Ferrari red. On the cover is a raised round accent panel that bears the Ferrari prancing horse logo. This accent panel is black, with the checkered appearance of carbon fiber, a major component in today's racecar construction. The clock's display is surrounded by a red and black "dial" that mimics a tachometer. On the top and front of the case are the 5 chrome buttons that control most of this clock's functions.

The lower line of the Imola's LCD panel displays the date in your choice of month-day or day-month format, and also the indoor temperature in your choice of °F or °C. As an alternative to the date, you can display alarm information. If the alarm is set, an alarm icon appears to the left of the date. Additional information (such as time zone) temporarily appears in the clock's displays during clock setup, and this is explained in the clock's user manual.

A special feature of the Imola travel clock is its choice of alarm sounds for the single daily alarm. You can select either a conventional 2-minute crescendo alarm (a series of increasingly loud beeps) or a racing mode alarm. This is the sound of an actual Ferrari F1 racecar accelerating through the gears and then backing off, and it repeats several times. Like the crescendo alarm, it ceases after about 2 minutes if you don't press the Alarm or Snooze/Light button to stop it.

The Imola features a bright, pushbutton-activated HiGlo^TM electro-luminescent backlight with auto-off. The backlight comes on when you push the Snooze/Light button on the top of the main unit and also when the alarm sounds.

The Imola travel alarm clock is designed to rest on a nightstand, shelf, desk, table, or other flat surface. It cannot be wall-mounted. The clock is powered by two AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries, which are included.

The red front cover and silver case on this version of the Imola are reminiscent of the body and wheel colors of many Ferrari factory racecars of recent vintage, and the station's round instrument-like display has the classic look that has graced Ferrari road car dashboards for decades.

• A radio tower and wave icon indicates reception of the synchronizing radio signals (WWVB, 60kHz) for time and date.
• Time signal reception can be disabled for manual setting if desired (for example, if clock is taken out of range of the time-synchronization signal).

  • Time as hour, minutes, seconds.
  • Time as hour and minutes with weekday abbreviation in place of seconds.
• Clock can be optioned to display time in 12-hour or 24-hour format.
• Weekday abbreviation is user-selectable for any of five languages: English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
• Bottom line of LCD panel displays calendar information and indoor temperature:
  • Calendar information can be displayed as month-date or date-month (year is displayed only during manual setting of clock and calendar).
  • Indoor temperature can be displayed as °F or °C.
• U.S. time zone ( Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern) is shown as a one-letter abbreviation that is only displayed during setup.
• Daily 2-minute crescendo alarm or racing mode alarm has an available 8-minute snooze function.
• HiGlo electro-luminescent backlight with 5-second auto-off for nighttime viewing of LCD panel.
• Convenient sliding cover protects clock during travel.
• Clock is powered by two AAA (1.5V) alkaline batteries (included).
• A low-battery icon appears when battery replacement is needed.
• Clock is designed for placement on a nightstand, desk, shelf, table, or other flat surface. It cannot be wall-mounted.
