You'd never believe how many requests we've had for a product like this! The SkyScan 30731 Atomic Digital Alarm Clock by Equity Time is a digital atomic clock with a red LED display. Because this clock plugs into a 120Vac, 60Hz wall outlet, its time display stays on constantly. You don't have to fumble around in the dark trying to press a button and light a display that stays lit for only a few seconds. And because the 30731 is an atomic clock, it sets itself automatically, adjusts automatically for Daylight Saving Time (DST), and is amazingly accurate. The 30731 has high and low brightness selections for its display and a single daily alarm. When the alarm sounds, you can press the SNOOZE/ALARM STOP bar momentarily to activate a 9-minute Snooze function, or you can press the bar for 2 seconds to stop the alarm until the next day.

You'll appreciate the both the absolute accuracy and the convenient features of the 30731 atomic digital alarm clock. Except for the SNOOZE/ALARM STOP bar on the top of the clock, all of the controls are on the clock's angled base just below and in front of the display for easy access.

You can easily select your continental U.S. time zone (EST, CST, MST, or PST) and auto-DST on/off by means of slide switches. And this clock gives you plenty of information when it's searching for the time-synchronization radio signal. When the clock begins its signal search, the signal strength indicator _:00 initially appears in the time display area. If the clock detects a stronger signal, one or two additional horizontal bars appear above the bar at the left of the colon above the bottom bar. If no signal is detected, the horizontal bar disappears. This feature can come in handy when you are deciding where to locate the clock. Also, when the clock is searching for the time signal, a blinking tower and waves icon appears to the right of the time display. Upon successful signal reception, the icon becomes lit steadily. If reception fails, the icon disappears.

The alarm time is easy to set on this clock, and the alarm pattern is a 2-minute series of beeps. An available Snooze function turns the alarm off for 9 minutes, after which the alarm sounds again.

The 30731 is styled in black, and both the display portion and base are oval in shape and softly rounded to be pleasing to the eye. A silver accent frames the display area. All of this clock's switches and  buttons, and SNOOZE/ALARM STOP bar are a complementary gray color. The high/low dimmer switch for display brightness is a nice feature on this clock.

Although the 30731 is powered from 120Vac, 60Hz house current, it does require a 9-volt alkaline battery for clock backup during power failures. The battery compartment is accessed from the bottom of the case.
