| The DWS-220
HoMedics
Envira-Station Weather Forecaster
is dark gray with silver trim, and stands about 7.5 inches tall. It can be
placed free standing on a table or shelf, or with the stand
removed, hung on a wall. |
|
The Envira-Station DWS-220 is
a weather forecaster with wireless indoor and outdoor temperature,
indoor humidity plus an atomic clock with dual alarms.
The four section display of the DWS-220 has a
momentary electro-luminescent backlight, activated by
pressing the snooze/backlight button on top of the unit, allowing it
to be seen in the dark.
The top section of the DWS-220 Weather Forecaster
features a weather
icon that represents the likely weather conditions for the next 12 hours as determined by changes in barometric pressure. One of
4 icons will be displayed, indicating sunny, partly sunny, cloudy,
rainy, stormy or icy.
|
|
|
|
The second line of the display
indicates remote temperature for one of up to three
remote locations, or can optionally be set to scan sequentially
through remote locations. Also included is a temperature trend
indicator, indicating rising, steady or falling temperature.
The third line of the display indicates
indoor temperature and humidity. Like the outdoor display, indoor
temperature and humidity trend indicators are included.
The fourth line of the display indicates
time in hours, minutes and seconds, date, and day of the week. The clock receives radio transmissions from the U.S.
commerce department, and remains synchronized to the official U.S. atomic
clock for split second accuracy. Daylight savings time changes are
automatic (DST changes may be optionally disabled).
Alarm functions include two daily
alarms.
Remote temperature data is
transmitted from up to 100 feet away (depending on obstructions and
interference).
Temperatures may be displayed in either °F
or °C. Minimum and Maximum indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity
readings, since the last reset, are stored, and can be displayed with the
push of a button.
One remote temperature
transmitter is included. Up to three remote transmitters can be used
with the DWS-220.

Note:
The HoMedics Envira-Station
DWS-220 Weather Forecaster has
"atomic" clock functionality. Atomic, or Radio Controlled clocks, receive
a radio signal to set themselves. Like any radio receiver however, they may not
be able to receive the signal if they are in a building with a lot of steel in
the structure, near computers or other electrical equipment that may generate
interference, or if the weather is unsuitable. The signal they receive does not
propagate well during the day. That's the nature of the signal, not the clock.
These clocks are designed to catch the signal when they can, generally in the
middle of the night, calibrate themselves, and then run quite accurately for
days until they can catch another signal. When you first put in the batteries,
they will most likely not set themselves until the middle of the night. That's
normal. By morning, weather permitting, it should be correct. Under less than
ideal conditions, it could take a few days. Daylight savings time changes may
not be made the first night if location and weather are not favorable. |

If the order
button is there, but the shopping cart page indicates that there
are no units available, then we are temporarily out of stock.
The item should be available in a day or two. Our
inventory control system tries it's best to keep us from
allowing the sale of something we don't have on the shelf.
If there is no
order button, most likely there are bigger problems with
availability. We may be out of stock for more than a few
days.
