The Chaney Instrument 75035 Bostonian Analog Wall Clock features a metal case with a mildly distressed black finish. This traditionally styled clock is big enough to be read from across a fairly large room. The manufacturer exaggerates a bit by calling the Bostonian a 16-inch clock. Its overall diameter is actually 15-1/4 inches, but that's still quite large. The 10-3/4 inch dial is antique tan with black serif-type Arabic numbers that vary from 3/4 to 7/8 inch tall. The teardrop hour and minute hands are also black, as is the internal bezel that surrounds the dial and curves upward to meet the case. The flat protective lens is glass.

The movement in the Bostonian clock is a conventional analog quartz movement. Thus, this clock is not "atomic" and does not adjust automatically for Daylight Saving Time, but it is extremely accurate. You simply insert one AA (1.5V) battery, turn a knob to set the time, and that's all there is to clock setup. The battery is not included and must be obtained separately. We recommend using an alkaline battery. Although expected battery life is not specified, we believe from our experience with this type of clock that the battery should last a year or more.
