The Chaney Instrument 75034 Fleur de Lis Analog Wall Clock features a metal case with an antique pewter finish and, on the concave outer portion, four raised fleur de lis symbols at the top, bottom, and sides. Fleur de lis (which is sometimes hyphenated and sometimes spelled fleur de lys) means "flower of the lily."  This historic symbol is a stylized lily or lotus blossom and has many meanings, including the representation of French royalty and of the Holy Trinity. While overall diameter of this clock is 14 inches, its case is quite wide. Thus, its 8-7/8 inch dial diameter is a little smaller than that of some 14-inch clocks.

The Fleur de Lis clock's dial is white. On it are Arabic hour numbers that are mainly black and accented in a tan shade that approximates a flesh tone. These bicolor numbers have an aged appearance and nicely complement the case color. The numbers vary in size, ranging  from about 7/8 inch to 1-1/4 inches tall. The bold hour and minute hands and slim second hand are black, and the flat protective lens is glass.

The movement in the Fleur de Lis clock is a conventional analog quartz movement. Thus, this clock is not "atomic" and does not adjust automatically for Daylight Saving Time, but it is extremely accurate. You simply insert one AA (1.5V) battery, turn a knob to set the time, and that's all there is to clock setup. The battery is not included and must be obtained separately. We recommend using an alkaline battery. Although expected battery life is not specified, we believe from our experience with this type of clock that the battery should last a year or more.
