While the 45012 Metropolis Analog Wall Clock, By Acu-Rite is one of the smaller timepieces in the Acu-Rite collection of decorative metal clocks, it is certainly distinctive. We think it has a definite retro look to it. The clock's curved case is brushed aluminum, and a chrome-look bezel surrounds the dial. The dial itself is white with embossed (raised) silver-tone Arabic numbers at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 positions and embossed silver-tone hour markers at the other positions. The three hands are brushed aluminum that matches the case. A convex glass lens protects the dial. While the Metropolis is an obvious choice for the kitchen, we're betting that you'll find plenty of other indoor locations for this small but eye-catching metal clock.

Acu-Rite exaggerates slightly in calling the Metropolis an 8-1/2 inch clock. We actually measured it at 8-1/4 inches overall, and it has a 5-inch dial. The numbers and hour markers on the dial are about 5/8 inch tall. Retro-styled in brushed aluminum, chrome, and silver, this clock will go nicely with a wide variety of interior color schemes.

The 45012 Metropolis uses a highly accurate analog quartz clock movement. You simply insert one AA (1.5V) battery, turn a knob to set the time, and that's all there is to clock setup. The battery is not included and must be obtained separately. We recommend using an alkaline battery. Although expected battery life is not specified, we believe from our experience with this type of clock that the battery should last a year or more.
