| On its package, the Acu-Rite
02362 Thermo-Hygrometer is described as "a creative approach to
a traditional product." This analog thermometer
and hygrometer is both large and colorful. Constructed of weather resistant
materials, the 02362 will look
great either indoors or in a sheltered and shaded outdoor location. (Mounting
this instrument where the
sun shines on it even part-time will cause an inaccurate
temperature reading and possibly an incorrect hygrometer reading.)
Perfect locations for the 02362 include patios, family rooms, kitchens,
and greenhouses, just to name a few.

The Acu-Rite
02362 Thermo-Hygrometer has a molded case with a semi-metallic
titanium-gray bezel around the face. The rest of the case is
white, as is the face. On the face, the large dial is for
temperature and the small dial at the bottom is for humidity.
The multicolored numbers and dial markers are green for
comfortable temperature and humidity ranges, blue for cold and
humid ranges, and red for hot and dry/very dry ranges. The dial pointers are black.
With its clean, modern styling and multicolored markings, the
02362 is not your ordinary analog thermo-hygrometer. By the way, the
lens that protects the face is flat (not convex) glass, so it can be cleaned easily and
is not prone to scratching. |

The manufacturer calls the
02362 an 11-inch thermo-hygrometer, but that's a bit of an
understatement. We actually measured the overall diameter as 11-3/4 inches
(298 mm) and the face diameter as 10-1/4 inches (260 mm). The thermometer dial diameter
is about 9-1/4 inches (235 mm),
and the hygrometer dial diameter is about 3 inches (76 mm). The
temperature numerals are about 3/4 inch (19 mm) tall for easy viewing
(hygrometer numerals are smaller). The thermometer reads from -40°F
to +130°F, and
the
hygrometer indicates relative humidity from 0 to 100 percent. In
addition to green numbers, the comfortable temperature range has a
yellow band across its portion of the dial for an extra splash of color.
Just to the inside of the numbers on the hygrometer dial are Very Dry, Dry, Normal,
and Humid range indications. If
you're looking for a large dial-type analog thermometer and hygrometer,
especially one with modern styling and an eye-catching color scheme on
its face, you need
look no farther than the Acu-Rite 02362.
