The Acu-Rite 00905 is a large analog thermometer, round in shape, with a smaller analog quartz clock at the bottom of its temperature dial. While this thermometer-clock combination unit can be used indoors, its primary application is outdoors in a shaded location. (Mounting this instrument where the sun shines on it even part-time will cause an inaccurate temperature reading.)

The 00905 thermometer features an ornate pointer and large black Arabic numbers that contrast nicely with the antiqued dial. The highly accurate quartz clock has teardrop hands, Arabic numbers at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, and graphic hour markers between the numbers. The face of this unit (the thermometer scale) is 14 inches in diameter, and the clock portion is about 3 inches in diameter. The protective lens is glass for easy cleaning without scratching.

Because the thermometer pointer may move during shipping, this instrument has a large knurled knob on the back panel that lets you easily calibrate the pointer to a known accurate temperature reading. Simple instructions for doing this are provided.

The Acu-Rite 00905 is designed to hang on a wall or other vertical surface. For accurate temperature readings, be sure to mount the unit in a location that will not be exposed to direct sunlight or other direct heat sources.

The quartz clock in this instrument is powered by one AA (1.5V) battery, which is not included and must be obtained separately. An alkaline or lithium cell is recommended. Please note that lithium cells work better than alkaline in very cold temperatures.
