But because 160°F and 170°F are USDA recommended internal temperatures for specific levels of doneness of fresh veal, fresh pork, ground meat and poultry (including patties), and more, the 00709 is an extremely versatile little cooking accessory. On the back of the 00709's package is a chart that indicates the USDA recommended internal temperatures for a wide variety of meats. You'll be surprised at how many kinds of meat the 00709 can help you cook to the proper temperature.

Because the stem (probe) of the 00709 is only 1-1/2 inches long, this thermometer is not suitable for use in large, thick cuts of meat (such as some roasts) or in meat and poultry loaves. For these meats, use a cooking thermometer with a longer probe that will reach the center of the meat.

Since the 00709 is so inexpensive, you'll want to order one for each piece of meat on the grill. This way, you can cook to perfection for each of your family members and guests.

Please Note: This thermometer should never be used in microwave ovens. Also, the 00709 should never be submerged or soaked and is not dishwasher-safe.
