| Different types,
sizes, and weights of food often make it difficult to determine the
correct temperature and length of cooking time. But now the top of the
line Acu-Rite digital cooking thermometer with pre-programmed settings for
meat makes it easy. Simply insert the metal probe into the meat, select
the appropriate MEAT and TASTE settings on the thermometer, and set the
alarm. When the alarm sounds, your food is done. The TASTE
(doneness) settings follow USDA internal temperature recommendations for
lamb, poultry, veal, ground beef, beef, and pork. |
|
What could be easier? Flip a switch for
temperature readout in either °F or °C.
Insert the Acu-Rite digital cooking
thermometer's probe into the meat. Push a button to select the type of
meat you're cooking: lamb, poultry, veal, ground beef, beef, or pork. Push
another button to select the desired TASTE setting: RARE, MEDIUM RARE,
MEDIUM, or WELL for beef, lamb, or veal, or DONE for the other meats. Then
set the ALERT ON switch to turn the alarm on. When the alarm sounds, your
meat will be cooked to its precise USDA-recommended internal temperature.
In addition to its meat
settings, this cooking thermometer also features a handy USER setting for
additional cooking applications. This is selected via the MEAT button and
lets you program the alarm temperature for dishes other than meat. The
factory-preset alarm temperature for the USER setting is 160°F, but you
can adjust it up or down in 1° increments to the correct temperature for
whatever dish you're cooking. This is done via the MEMORY, +, and -
buttons, and you can store the USER alarm temperature in memory until you
need to change it.
Featuring a heat-resistant
stainless steel probe on an extra long high-temperature (700°F/371°C)
stainless steel wire, this thermometer has a wide temperature measurement
range of +32° to +392°F (0° to +200°C). Pivot the hinged LCD display
panel up at an angle to use this unit on a countertop, or fold it flat to
attach it to a metal (steel) surface by means of its double magnets. The
large LCD display shows the MEAT and TASTE settings, an ALERT indication
if the alarm is on, the ALERT temperature at which the alarm will sound,
and the actual temperature of the cooking food.
The cooking thermometer
includes the required AAA (1.5V) battery and has a POWER ON/OFF switch to
maximize battery life. Please be aware that this thermometer is designed
for use in conventional ovens, barbeque grills, deep fryers, and
smokers--but NOT in microwave ovens.
If you don't want or need the
pre-programmed meat settings and would prefer a countdown timer instead,
please check out the Acu-Rite 00648 Digital Cooking Thermometer/Timer on
this website. It has a high-temperature probe and wire like the 00667, so
it will work in the same cooking applications. Or, if you'd prefer a
pre-programmed digital meat thermometer with probe that is almost
functionally identical to the 00648 but designed for use in conventional
ovens only, please have a look at the Acu-Rite 00724 Digital Meat
Thermometer on this website. |
