AW48H-7EV Casual Classic Watch with Analog and Digital Time
|

Dual
Time Watch with Analog and Digital Displays, Calendar, Stopwatch, Daily
Alarm, Hourly Signal, 50M Water Resistance, Black Resin Band

The Casio Casual Classic line of watches is
extensive, featuring both men's and women's models in a wide variety of
styles. Some have analog hands, and some have digital displays. Some, like
the Casio AW48H-7EV Casual Classic Watch, have both. Casio states
on its website that its Casual Classic watches are a "perfect fit for
today's lifestyles," and this is certainly an apt description. Significant features
of this watch include dual time capability, calendar, daily alarm, and
stopwatch. For the gender of the AW48H-7EV, the Casio website indicates
"Male." However, because this watch is medium in size at about
1-1/4 inches wide by 1/3/8 inches tall and fits a wide range of wrist
sizes, it may well appeal to some women.

The AW48H-7EV's styling is
handsomely modern. The front of the case is black plastic, and
the back is stainless steel. The watch face is white with black
markers, and the hands are
silver-tone metal. The band is black resin
with a black buckle. On the sides of the case are three metal pushbuttons that control the watch's
functions. The AW48H-7EV is medium in size and light in weight so that most men and
even some women can wear it. Its band can
accommodate wrist sizes from about 5-1/2 to almost 8-3/4 inches.

The Casio
AW48H-7EV's analog time display (hour and minute
hands) is normally set for local time. The digital display has
five display modes:
-
Digital
time as hours, minutes, and seconds.
-
Calendar
with month, date, and weekday.
-
Daily
alarm time and set/not-set status of the alarm and hourly
time signal.
-
Dual
time as hours, minutes, and seconds.
-
1/100
second stopwatch.
In the
timekeeping mode, the digital time display on the AW48H-1EV is
normally set for the same time as the analog display (local
time). For
digital time, you set hours, minutes, and seconds. If desired,
you can set the digital display for a time other than that shown in the analog
display, but please be aware that this does affect the calendar
display and can cause it to be incorrect.
The
AW48H-7EV's dual time capability lets you keep
track of the time in another time zone. In the dual time display, you can
set the hours and minutes. The seconds
count, however, remains synchronized with the seconds count of digital
time. Digital
time and dual time can be independently optioned for either
12-hour or 24-hour format. We
should mention that the pushbutton at the 3 o'clock
position
is used to rapidly advance the analog hands when you're setting
the watch. Since that's the only time you use this button, it's
flush with the case so that you can't press it accidentally with your
finger.
With good
looks, a generous complement of features and functions, and a
very modest price, the AW48H-7BV is an exceptional value.
